MaxG^™ IPL laser treatments will elicit a definite reduction in sun damage and clearer complexion in about two weeks after each treatment. Over the course of one to three months post-treatment, skin will continue to rejuvenate.

The MaxG^™ system can be safely used on individuals with Type 1 (ivory), Type 2 (Fair), Type 3 (Fair to Beige), and Type 4 (light brown) skin tones.

IPL laser treatments work by heating up the surrounding tissue and melanin in the treatment area. Dark skin types have increased melanin and, due to the heat produced, can stimulate and increase the appearance of the darkened pigmentation, making this skin type not a candidate for IPL.

It is also not recommended for individuals who have had recent sunburns, are pregnant, have a history of seizures, have severe dermatitis or eczema (within the treatment area), have active skin infections, or have used Accutane within the previous six months.

The Icon 1540 Fractional^™ laser system is also less painful than traditional ablative treatments  because of its unique ability to emit a single, short pulse of laser energy versus other systems that emit multiple, longer pulses to the skin, which heats the skin more. With its active contact cooling handpiece and application of numbing cream, this procedure is very tolerable, while still offering maximized results.

The Icon 1540 Fractional^™ laser system emits highly controlled light energy into the deep layers of the skin with precise microscopic beams. This energy then creates narrow, deep columns of skin coagulation that stimulate new, healthy skin cells to replace older, damaged skin cells. This same light energy heats the target area specifically, stimulating production of new collagen and promoting resurfacing of younger, fresher, healthier skin. Over time, scars and stretch marks are greatly reduced, leading to smoother and lighter skin.

Most patients will notice that their skin tone is smoother and more even after about three weeks, with progressive improvement over the course of six months as the skin naturally renews itself. For fractional laser treatments, one to three treatment sessions are recommended for skin renewal, and three to five or more sessions are recommended for stretch marks and scars.

ThreeforME^™  laser treatments are a combination of Intense Pulse Light (IPL) laser therapy with fractional laser therapy using an XD lens that can target skin imperfections more deeply and an XF lens that allows the session to be completed quicker, minimizing discomfort of the procedure. With the first pass of the laser, IPL will treat discoloration from sun damage such as freckles, brown spots, or age spots, as well as correct facial veins including broken blood vessels, spider veins, and rosacea. The second pass of the laser uses a fractional non-ablative laser that stimulates collagen production in the skin, revealing a reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and other skin texture irregularities. Combining these two lasers leads to a dramatic improvement in skin with one procedure.

Most individuals will have dramatic results with one ThreeforME^™ laser treatment. Results will be evident in about one to three weeks after each session. Over the course of six months, results will progressively improve as the skin continues to rejuvenate itself, new collagen forms, and old damaged skin cells are replaced with newer, healthier skin cells. For individuals with more severe skin imperfections or wrinkles, one to two additional sessions may be necessary.

• Our laser skin treatments are fast and simple!
• You will begin by being seated in our reclining chair. Prior to the laser treatment, a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area to help with discomfort.
• Light pulses are then applied to the treatment area in several passes. Patients describe this sensation as a “mild snapping” feeling. Most patients say the process is quite tolerable.
• Post-treatment, a sunburn-like sensation may be felt for two to four hours. Cold compresses and ice can be applied to help alleviate this.
• It will be necessary to protect the skin from the sun using at least SPF 50 and wearing a hat and protective clothing. Your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight for about one to two weeks after treatment.
• You will not want to exfoliate the skin for one week after treatment. The skin will naturally do this itself post-treatment. You can use a mild, gentle facial cleaner and moisturizer for the week post-treatment.
• Dark spots may appear darker in the week after treatment. This is to be expected. These dark spots will continue to darken, flake, and fall off in the week after treatment.
